Actually it does spin around.

Parts of the sun's surface rotate at different speeds.

At the equator a full rotation is completed every 24.5 days.

Around it's poles rotates every 34 days.

The specific distance from earth is so perfect that it forms Earth and life as we know it.

Apart of this, our sun electrifies everything.

But I'll give you your opinion on the afterlife.

Pythagoras (and other great ancient minds) refered to a lifecycle being 3000 years. I mean, there's just something about such a statement.. something more..
