“You want to give athletes a maximum advantage.”

-Nick Littlehales-

Sleep is one thing, dreams are another.

The simplicity of the words sleep it’s something you need to like. However, the perception of the word itself doesn’t reflect its complex abilities by far.

A great way to comprehend the simplicity of sleep is by making it visual.

In my early gym years, sleep popped to my notice when big dudes and professional bodybuilders told me that sleep was important. I remember one guy telling me that muscles are like babies, they grow from rest and sleep. Okay, got it.

Looking back at it, this is a very good concept to explain to people and make them aware of the importance which rest provides for optimal recovery.

Now, I like to use bodybuilders as an example because they make the effects of sleep physically visual by their size of muscle growth. There is no denying the fact that lack of sleep will result significantly in reduced muscle size.

“Most of your coordination learning takes place in your dreams.”
