Many companies had the luxury to ride, grow, and profit hugely on the energy and unwittingness of employees.

Especially during the late 90s until 2010-ish.

You would expect great companies notice that value and keep things interesting for their employees (who have been great/priceless assets in the past). Unfortunately, the majority of businesses rather let great employees escape.

Sadly it's something very noticable amongst many industries and firms across the globe these days.
