Something to think about.

I stopped school early. I had the opportunity to go and work as a apprentice deckhand at 16/17. The deal was to aquire practical experience and then achieve your degree in the second part of the year.

Obviously 99% of the young men who did this and earned good money- Meaning school's out.

Today I know I'm equipped with lots of skills due to life at sea requirements, just being very curious, and always have been hands on at younger age.

Last time I checked, I hold 27 certificates, of which I need exactly none to perform well at my work as a offshore deck supervisor 20 year later (indeed, still working on deck).

I achieved an exercise physiologist degree, a dream therapist and analist diploma.

Working abroad across the world have enabled me to read markets and global economy pretty well.

I earn a decent amount of money that provides for me and my family, still by working on deck. And this job offers me a fair bit of free time (over a yearly period).

Today, I still consider myself as someone and nothing.

Perhaps I should've learned a skill. Or not?
