The Biggest Mistake Parents Of Newborns Should Avoid To Set Their Babies Up For A Great Sleep Schedule
When you do this as a parent, you’ll sleep better
Getting your baby asleep isn’t always an easy task.
Your approach is more important than the ability of your baby to sleep.
Think when babies are born…
They can’t produce the hormone called Melatonin yet. Their melanopsin on the back of the eyeball isn’t fully developed yet.
So within the first three months when babies are born they can’t regulate their clocks, at least not using light.
What can you do then?
Well, when you feed your children at specific times of the day, you are not only feeding them. You are doing three things:
- The first is making sure they stay hydrated
- Secondly, you are giving them the small amount of nutrition they need
- You are learning the rhythms, they adjust according to food timing
The timing of food has other advantages as well. Strict timing allows your body to adapt to that schedule, and once it has done your endocrine system will be more likely to find a better balance.
