The Venturi effect is an interesting concept to imagine. Back in the days when I was working on production dredging vessels.
From an operator standpoint I was largely responsible for the production, during sandsuction and especially long-pipe shore discharging operations, it was extremely important to understand and visualize the velocity of seawater moving through the large diameter pipes, and which soil you were dealing with (how long the setteling of that particular soil on that particular location took) in order to perform well at anticipating in terms of consistent production and delivery.
Drawing a mental sketch of "the Venturi effect" has always helped me to regulate my actions to anticipate on pressures and maintain soil shore delivery.
Thanks for writing this interesting piece. I still have a Bernoulli book in my buylist but this article is a great quickfeed.
