Very motivational Maite!
Myself, I work abroad for nearly half of the year. We have 4 kids, and since the kids came the situation became different. It became more difficult on a mentally to leave them behind every time.
This makes me think a lot whether it's the correct thing to do.
On the flipside, I'm also fortunate to spend half of the year at home and when I do so, I can devote much quality time to them.
In a way there's also a positive side attached, I find, this situation also strengthens emotional resilience. There's a time of separation, but after that there's a reward of bonding time.
Occasionally, my wife also needs a break, and she goes on a holiday alone with a friend when she needs it (at first I thought it was a bit weird, but I understand a mother too needs this once in a while)
In the blend, it's also healthy for the kids and myself, to spend a few weeks together, without mams now en then.
Also, thanks for mentioning me, appreciated!
